From it origins in Ibiza, Pacha went on to conquer the rest of the world and become one of clubbing's global superbrands, so it was only a matter of time until it hit New York. Although Manhattanites are a little sniffy that Lithuania got a Pacha before them, the club's American incarnation has been packing clubbers into the three-level venue in Hell's Kitchen that was once the old South Factory since it opened in December. On the top-floor is the VIP-only area, called Pachita, where you can lounge on the low-sluing banquettes, and if you don't finish that bottle of Ketel One in one night, the staff will store it for the next time. How civilised.

An 'unbreakable' wine glass made of a new material called Kwarx has been launched at Vinexpo in Hong Kong. The makers claim it is the most important revolution in glass since automated lead crystal production. Philippe Durand, Chairman of ARC International, the company which developed the process, would only say 'Kwarx is a new material' but jealously guarded the actual formula. Kwarx glass is handblown crystal and is supposed to retain lustre and transparency as well as being unbreakable.

Hybrid House is the brainchild of Sander Architects . They use the concept of part prefab, all custom to design a house which gets you all the advantages of a prefab house and yet gives you a building that is designed exclusively for you. They use established steel manufacturers to create the bones of your house. This allows a budget of any size to go much further. Their pproach means that this will be YOUR house, designed exclusively for you. You might be a foodie and dream of an open-plan kitchen, or have a fashion collection that is begging for extra-large walk-in closets: the point is that no two clients are the same and we love to work with the individuals who come to us to design their home.

Chateau Figeac is a large 40–ha property at the Pomerol end of St. Emilion, just across the road from Cehval Blanc. As with Chateau Cheval Blanc, La Dominique and the Corbin properties, there is a significant continuation of the Pomerol gravel plateau. Vintages like the 1982, 1990, and the 1998 prove that Figeac’s potential is magnificent; the fact that it is planted with 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc compared with just 30% Merlot never makes it wholly typical St. Emilion or Pomerol, however. Consistency is a problem here, and barrell samples from Figeac are harder than most to judge, but at its best these are masterful wines.

Niche Modern is a small design shop based in brooklyn that started by simply designing products for their own lives to make themselves happy and satisfy their super picky sensibilities. When other people expressed appreciation for their work and started placing orders they knew they were on to something. All of these fixtures are hand blown in subtle hues of grays and ambers, and no two will be exactly the same (which makes the one you buy that much more special)
They have also recently broadened their line of home furnishings by adding hand made needle point pillows with green and blue camouflage patterns. These little numbers will bring a splash of sassiness to any couch and with their soft, down inserts and velvet backs.

The LG XNote T1 is a 14.1-inch Core Duo laptop that claims to be the world's thinnest at just 21mm. Bringing the war of cellphone thinness to notebooks, LG has really compressed the thickness of this one—we're not sure if it's physically possible to build a laptop any thinner than this.
It'll be available in a couple of wide screen resolution choices including 1280x800 WXGA or 1440x900 WXGA+ , and you can also pack it with up to 4GB of RAM. Its Intel Core Duo L2300 processor runs at 1.5GHz, it has a 5-in-1 memory card slot, fingerprint sensor and of course, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. And, even with all this thinness, there's still a DVD burner inside.
All those specs are well and good, but just look at it. This is one gorgeous-looking notebook, and its improbably thin form factor and 4.2 pound weight certainly make it a candidate for traveling light. Pricing and availability weren't announced.

A brilliant offering, this 10-acre vineyard (2.5 acres were planted in 1901) is planted on both gravel and limestone soils just north of the village of St.-Emilion, not the finest sector in this vintage. 92-94 points Robert Parker: "One of St.-Emilion’s top garage wines (1,000 cases produced), the 2005 Lucia is a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc fashioned from tiny yields of 20 hectoliters per hectare. Stephane Derenoncourt is the consultant, which explains the wine’s impeccable high quality. Boasting a saturated purple color as well as beautiful opulence and richness, it offers copious quantities of creme de cassis-like fruit infused with smoke, barrique, and spice aromas. Dense, rich, beautifully pure, and nicely nuanced with refreshing acidity providing uplift and balance, this terrific wine should drink well young yet age well for 15+ years."

New York artist Amy Helfand creates collages and textiles based on garden imagery. Modern Nature showcases the artist's prints, fabrics, and carpets, all inspired by the riotous Wild Garden at Wave Hill, the famed public garden in the Bronx. In her exuberant designs, Helfand juxtaposes the organic and manmade, nature and culture, fantasy and reality. The results are imagined wonderlands comprising site plans and unrecognizable yet distinctly biomorphic forms. Amy’s work as an artist has taken many forms, including photography, sculpture, installation, digital collage and textiles. She received a BA in photography and American Studies from Hampshire College and an MFA from the School of the Art Institue in Chicago.
She will be displaying her work at the Frye Art Museum in Seattle from April 29– July 30

The Amadana 117 series earphones lends your MP3 player a touch of refinement. The bamboo looks fantastic, but it's also very light and strong. (Half the weigh of comparable earphones.) Of course, the most important aspect of the Amadana 117 line is that they sound rich and clear. Available in two available colors: dark bamboo with a black over-the-ear loop, and light bamboo with a white over-the-ear loop. (There is also a limited edition black bamboo).

The term design hotel has found wide currency in recent years, and has devolved into a vague superlative, almost without referent. Today any hotel built after 1900 calls itself a design hotel, as though in opposition to those hotels which were not designed but which assembled themselves, of their own free will, from free-floating clusters of furniture, bedding, and masonry.
So it may strain the reader's patience when we refer to Hi Hotel as a design hotel, but there is really no more concise way to put it. Every aspect of the Hi Hotel, from the décor to the toiletries, was designed by Matali Crasset, a Philippe Starck protegé, and the style is somewhat familiar to those who have seen Starck's work — but somehow even more whimsical, more vibrant. A variety of schemes come in a variety of colors, from “White & White,” which resembles a hospital room, to “Digital,” whose walls are covered in foot-high pixels of blue and green, and “Monospace,” in bands of blue, white, and red.
