South American Adventure Cruise

Discover the South American continent's most pristine, magical regions aboard our new small cruiseships, the M/V Mare and Via Australis. These Expedition Cruise Ships take you around the island of Tierra del Fuego, through the legendary Strait of Magellan, Beagle Channel and Cape Horn. Their second vessel (Via Australis, built in 2005) will allow their program to offer 2 weekly departures from Punta Arenas (Saturadys and Wednesdays) and 2 weekly departures from Ushuaia (Saturdays and Wednesdays) giving passengers the option of 3-, 4- or 7-night journeys visiting the world's southernmost cities and Cape Horn. Disembarkations into uninhabited islands and fjords take place daily in Zodiac motorized rafts, allowing passengers to see penguins and other wildlife colonies, the region's most important glaciers, and Cape Horn. Daily lectures on specialized area subjects (Glaciology, Native Cultures, Navigation Routes, Flora and Fauna, and Penguins) complement the experience.
