Sounds for Sights

They don’t call them travel podcasts but Sounds for Sights is offering downloadedable, self-guided audio walking tours for sights and cities around the world.
Sounds for Sights was created by two friends who love traveling, the outdoors and New York City. Being a tech-savvy pair and disappointed with other group, book and bus tour options, they considered additional ways to provide an entertaining and educational destination guide. While spending time in the city, they noticed the obvious prevalence of iPods and wondered what other purposes they could serve besides simply playing music. Being visitors themselves, the answer was clear; develop helpful and fascinating self-guided audio-walking tours that could be downloaded and enjoyed at a person’s convenience. Although the concept of prerecorded audio guides was not brand new, little attention had been paid to providing quality content in a convenient and highly portable package, which was easily accessible online. Most tours cost $5 and last around 45 minutes.
